Description
The Microchip MCP23017 16-bit I/O Expander with I2C interface provides 16 pins of general purpose I/O as well as two configurable interrupt pins in a convenient 28-pin DIP package.
The I2C address of the expander can be chosen using the A0, A1 and A2 inputs - allowing you to use the expander with other I2C devices, including multiple I/O expanders.
- Supports 100kHz, 400kHz and 1.7MHz I2C rates for quick configuration and use of the I/O
- Three address pins allow up to eight devices on the bus
- Configurable interrupt pins - active-high, active-low or open-drain
- Configurable interrupt source - interrupt on change from configured register defaults or pin changes
- External reset input
- Low standby current - only 1µA!
- Operates at between 1.8 and 5.5V
- 28-pin DIP package for easy mounting on breadboards, stripboard or PCBs
