What This Product Does
54Mbps eXtended Range™ Wireless Router TL-WR542G integrates firewall, NAT-router and Wireless AP, which is dedicated to Small Office / Home Office (SOHO) allowing you to establish a better wireless connection than ever, sharing Internet Access, online-gaming or video streaming. Also, TL-WR542G supports WDS wireless bridge offering seamless bridging to expand your network coverage, making it convenient for you to pick up the signal during different rooms or offices. When it comes to the installation, Easy Setup Assistant could lead you through the setup process step-by-step, and even helps with wireless network settings and security configurations, especially for novice users.
4X Range – eXtended Range Technology
TL-WR542G complies with the IEEE 802.11g/b standards and adopts 2x to 3x eXtended Range WLAN transmission technology so that transmission distance is 2 -3 times that of traditional 11g/b solutions. That is to say, transmission range is extended to 4-9 times, which could effectively improve wireless performance.
IP QoS - Control Bandwidth Reasonably
Among the wireless network, indiscriminate Internet surfing and bandwidth-guzzling downloads by internal users often leave home or small office with insufficient bandwidth. TL-WR542G supports IP QoS function, allowing optimum utilization of bandwidth and offers bandwidth control over congestion, preventing the bandwidth abuse. In this way, the users of a small network receive committed and specific bandwidth, preventing non-critical applications from degrading network performance.
WPA / WPA2 Encryptions - Advanced Security
As for the security of WI-FI connection, WEP encryption has been no longer the strongest and safest guards for outside threats. TL-WR542G provides WPA/WPA2 encryptions (Both Personal and Enterprises) that are created by the WI-FI Alliance industry group, preventing your network from outside intrusions efficiently.
Easy Setup
Even novice users can easily setup their networking products. The device comes with a CD with an Easy Setup Assistant that leads you through the setup process step-by-step, and even helps with wireless network settings and security configurations.
Detachable Antenna
TL-WR542G offers 3dBi external antenna that can be rotated and adjusted in different directions to fit various operation environments, and can bring better performance than the internal antenna. For even more demanding applications, the detachable antenna can be replaced with diverse antennas to show even greater flexibility and wider wireless coverage.
