RFID-RC522 RFID reader and writer kit Comes with Key Fob and Card
Description
This great RFID kit contains a combination reader/writer module powered by the popular MFRC522 chip, an RFID card and a RFID keyfob.
We can optionally also supply straight or right angle headers for easy connection to the board.
The MFRC522 supports contactless communication at 13.56MGHz. It is compatible with MIFARE Mini, MIFARE 1K, MIFARE 4K, MIFARE Ultralight, MIFARE DESFire EV1 and MIFARE Plus RF, and connects to your microcontroller over SPI or I2C.
Powered from a 3.3V supply, it is ideal for use with Arduino, AVR or ARM processors. It can also be used with common PICs with the use of level converters.
The pinout of the chip is as follows:
- SDA: Serial Data for I2C (marked with a square solder pad)
- SCK: Serial Clock for I2C
- MOSI: Master Out Slave In - for SPI
- MISO: Master In Slave Out - for SPI
- IRQ: Interrupt - this pin has multiple functions and should be connected to an interrupt pin on your microcontroller
- GND: Ground - connect this to ground or 0V
- RST: Reset - when held low the chip is turned off. Chip resets and powers up on a rising edge
- 3.3V: Module power supply - connect 2.7V to 3.3V to this pin
This module is not 5V tolerant. Using a 5V supply and 5V logic levels may damage the chip! Each module will be tested prior to despatch.
